Yes, you know by the title of this post that today we are returning to the UK. Why? Leaving all that gorgeousness in California and Canada behind us and going back to the ugliness of London. The picture to the left is of Don in his mother’s living room just prior to us leaving. We [...]

Today we drove from Hercules (Wikipedia entry) to Palo Alto to meet up with some of Don’s friends, Don’s mother came with us. Were were a little bit early so I decided to go into the store next door; Sees. I can always find things in there to take home to my parents and today [...]

A very sad day, having to leave Vancouver and finish our honeymoon. I hope this isn’t the last time we see Vancouver, I am looking forward to returning. We got up fairly early, had our breakfast, got ready and caught a taxi to the airport. Everything ran smoothly including going through US immigration in Canada. [...]

Today we tried out the subway system, I thought we were going to get lost but it was really easy to use. We went out to New Westminster where they were supposed to have a shopping center/market but it wasn’t a very pleasant area…I mean, it was more pleasant than some area’s of London but [...]

Our first trip today was to Granville Island which was an industrial area but done up into a wonderful market and entertainment area. The easiest way for us to get there was by a little boat, that cost us $2.50 each way each person but it was worth it, a cute little trip. When we [...]

We didn’t start our day with such an elaborate breakfast as yesterday, we had bought some cereal from the store for today. We walked through a regular neighorhood looking area today which had a lot of restaurants and shops down to English Bay. We were amazed by the beach when we got there with the [...]

I had no idea Vancouver was this beautiful, people had told me its a great place but never realized how much of an understatement they were making. Our day started off having breakfast in a nearby restaurant. We are staying in a self-catering place but wasn’t really prepared with anything. I had my favorite French [...]

This is where our honeymoon really began! This evening we drove out to San Francisco Airport to catch our plane to Vancouver, Canada. I am so excited about this trip, not just that it is our vacation but also to look into the possibilities of moving there…in the near future. Our flight was pretty uneventful [...]

Today we had the US reception of our Civil Partnership in Oakland, California! It was mainly for those who couldn’t fly over the Atlantic for our actual ceremony and we got a lot of people there! All of Don’s family, sisters, neices, nephews, brother etc turned up. Also we had Cherie, Larry, Febra and Chuck [...]

Today was Don’s mother’s 80th birthday and the family decided to throw a surprise party for her. She was was lead to believe that it was for Howard, how eldest son, but still needed to take her out so the rest of the family could set up everything….of course we took her shopping. We arrived [...]

Last night I was very ill and today was kind of peaceful yet very enjoyable especially when we were able to do a trip to Target – my favorite store in the world.

This morning we got up really early, at 5am! We all ready to go when the taxi picked us up at 6.30. The taxi took us to Heathrow, we checked in ok. The flight was a little boring but went quicker than I had expected. When we arrived in San Francisco we got a rental [...]

This morning we left the luggage in the hotel and popped to Chinatown to have a look round, we got lost as soon as we arrived! We had some breakfast in a cafe then went back to the hotel. Don’s mother and neice waited on the local metro station while we went to pick up [...]

Ohmigosh – it was extremely hot today, I couldn’t believe it for Paris. Today we took the RER A train to EuroDisney, it was very hot in the train but it was very efficient – it took us right outside the entrance of Disney and Don’s family were very impressed! Disney was very nice, clean, [...]

The miracle of air conditioning!! Yes yes yes!! Thanks to air conditioning in our hotel room we were able to have a good nights sleep and woke up refreshed ready for a day of showing Don’s family round Paris…well, after we have breakfast at a local bar/cafe. We started off at the Eifel Tower; I [...]

Today was the day we had been planning for months….and had been looking forward to for years. I guess this is something that a gay person would never realise would happen to them, the opportunity to get married. Everything went without a hitch. We got up on time, got ready, got a taxi to the [...]

Oh my goodness, this time tomorrow I will be a married man. How exciting! While Don continued to take his family out to do more tourist stuff, including a boat trip to Greenwich (see photo below), I was beavering away at work. However, to my surpise some of my colleagues had a collection for us, [...]

This evening we had a dinner in honor of all those who had traveled overseas to come to our wedding. We had this in our favorite Chinese restaurant Laureate. I was almost late as I decided to get my hair cut and scooted along to the restaurant just to arrive in time where I found [...]

I had another day at work while Don had some time off and took his family round to more tourist hot spots round London. Oh my goodness, I can’t believe how busy I am at work right now…just when I could do with resting up for the wedding and vacation!! No rest for the wonderful [...]

Today we had a fun time with Don’s family first taking them up the London Eye, its always a great experience as people can see miles across London and as today’s weather was good we had a fantastic view. Later on we took them across Westminster Bridge, walked near the Houses of Parliament and Westminster [...]

Today was change of visitors day, where Tom and Lei would leave and move into their hotel in Kings Cross and Don’s family would arrive from California. Don left early to go to the airport to pick up his mother Eva, sister Charline and neice Tiffany. In the meantime Tom and Lei got themselves together [...]

This week I am busy at work wrapping up a lot of stuff up before I got on vacation next week…like today I expect Tom and Lei will go round on their own doing the tourist thing. I helped them book on some trips.

Tom and Lei got the tourist special today, going to locations only a visitor to London dare goes! We started off at the Tower of London, going over the Tower Bridge to the South Bank visiting HMS Belfast where we are getting married in a few days, then onto the South Bank on the Waterloo [...]

This morning I got up really early again…around 5…to go pick up Tom from the airport. This time I was hoping that he got the times right and would arrive safely!! Oh my goodness, the airport was completely crazy…more so than yesterday. I guess a lot of people arrive on Saturday morning but the one [...]
